Tips on building social confidence
Strong social skills can be developed. Social confidence is not something that people just have. Everyone can work on developing stronger social skills to develop meaningful friendships and have more fulfilling relationships.

Practice makes perfect
The most important thing to do to develop your social competence is to put yourself out there and expose yourself to other people and social situations. For example, before you go into a new social situation, think of an "open-ended" question you can ask someone you are meeting for the first time. Open-ended means the person can't give a one-word answer. One example would be "what are your plans for the summer, for the holidays?"

You are not alone
The first thing to realize is that many teenagers experience some level of social anxiety. You are not the only one.
